Getting StartedAccess 21 Logo


The required starting session for everyone interested in becoming a member, using the facility, taking courses, and/or producing a program. The orientation includes a discussion of “what is public access,” a review of the basic rules and regulations, and a tour of the facilities. After attendance at the orientation, you may register for membership and sign-up for courses in the main office (see below).

Held every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month, 7:00-8:30 PM.


Registration for membership must be done in person, Monday – Friday during regular business hours, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, within 6 months of attending an Orientation. At that time you must present a valid government-issued photo ID with your current residential address. Payment can be made by cash, check (paid to: CMPAC), credit card, or debit card.

Charlotte: $25
Mecklenburg County: $65
Other (can not be a producer): $100

At registration you will be given a complete packet of the Rules and Regulations of the organization, as well as other materials. Once your membership registration is complete, you may sign-up for any courses for which you qualify.
