Welcome to Access 21’s new happenings page! At Access 21, we work to engage the Charlotte- Mecklenburg community and its diverse culture(s). This past spring, we focused on reaching out to our diverse community and continued to do so through the summer of 2024. Into the fall of 2024, we will continue to focus on making outreach a part of our community engagement efforts.
Outreach is something we want to do regularly We have worked to connect with the members of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg community with some of the following initiatives:
- On October 19 th , 2024, Access 21 will cover Catawba Nation at Cedar Grove in Huntersville. Keep tuned in as this will become a program to air on Access 21.
- On September 25 th , Tarik Kiley, our Director of Membership and Community Engagement, will attend the Guild of Charlotte Artists membership meeting, to inform them about opportunities to make a podcast or produce a TV show at Access 21.
- The Charlotte Asian Festival has been scheduled to premiere on Access 21 on Tuesday, September 17 @ 1:00 PM and 10:00 PM. Tune in to watch.
- The Charlotte Pride Festival coverage will be airing soon on Access 21. Stay tuned. Orientation recurs on the 2 nd and 4 th of each month, at 7 PM, in our studio building, at 613. Calvert St, Charlotte, NC 28208. Orientation is where you will learn more about membership at Access 21, and it is the first step towards becoming a member. The next orientation occurs on September 24 th , 2024. Contact Tarik Kiley at [email protected] or (704) 377-8988 to register.
Keep checking our new website for more information about our community engagement efforts, and learn how you can volunteer. Volunteering at a vendor’s booth or on a field production at a festival is a great way to represent our community while increasing awareness of our offerings to the broader community. People must become more aware of the resources we offer at Access 21.
We reach this goal by increasing visibility.
